Easy tips to keep your carpet clean this Summer.

Easy tips to keep your carpet clean this Summer.

Warmer days are finally here. The sun is shining brighter and longer, the children are home from school, and the laid-back, relaxing feeling of summer fills the air. This time of year brings warm memories of time spent outdoors, hot dogs on the grill, and lounging by the pool. It also brings an increase in allergens, humidity, and dirt to your carpets.

So, here are some ways to stay on top of your carpet cleaning chores while still enjoying some summer fun:

Change up your vacuum routine.

During these summer months, just getting by on a once-a-week vacuum schedule may not suffice. Pets shed their fur, children run outside and track in dirt from outside. The wind blows dust through open windows and doors; vacuuming at least every other day would be ideal. Frequent vacuuming extends the life of your carpet by inhibiting the buildup of grainy particles that destroy carpet fibers.

Incorporate lots of rugs and mats.

Put a good mat in front of entryways, on both sides of the doors. The mat can catch debris and moisture from the bottom of shoes before it has a chance to make its way to your carpets. Be sure to clean and change your rugs and mats frequently to prevent a buildup of allergens and dirt within their fibers.

Live by the "no shoes" rule.

Summertime is the perfect time for flip-flops that can easily be slid off outside the door. To keep chemicals, allergens, and dirt at bay, simply make it a rule in your home that guests, family, and friends remove their shoes before entering to protect your carpet. Place a shoe rack near the door or another designated area so shoes can be taken off before entering.

Have your carpets professionally cleaned.

Ideally, your carpets should be cleaned professionally every 12 to 18 months. While routinely vacuuming aids in removing dirt at a surface level, a professional carpet cleaning service reaches toxins and pollutants trapped deep within the carpet fibers. Attempting to clean your carpets yourself may seem tempting but could backfire if a soapy residue is left on the carpet, which will invite more dust and dirt. Contact the professionals at Gator Clean today to schedule your first Summer carpet cleaning service.

We hired Gator Clean to clean our ducts and yes a small amount of mold was found. Danielle and Kelly were a great team and explained everything that they were doing. With the ducts clean the AC air seems to be cooler. This is NEW review, on November 6, 2024, we used Gator Clean to clean our tile floors, main bathroom shower walls and floor and finished it off using a Sandstone colorseal on the grout. I wish I had taken before pictures. Danielle and Kelly again did a fantastic job.

These Ladies are great they get right down to business. Cleaned up afterwards and no pressure or scare tactics to up sale you like some other services, just what you need. They saved me from a big potential problem, when cleaning the dryer vent they suspected it wasn’t connected. I had local handyman check it out and in fact it came loose not connected under the trailers crawl space. THANKS Gater Clean for helping me avoid a major issue down the road ????

Cost Factors in Cleaning the Air Ducts of a Florida Home.

The cost of maintaining a home can add up pretty fast. Unlike renting, homeowners are solely responsible for repairs and upkeep of the various parts of their house. Some maintenance issues are more pressing than others, leaving many problems to simmer on the back burner. This has the potential to create a more giant headache out of issues you thought weren't that big of a deal.
